There was something that kept bothering me with AI builders in general….Credits.
Most AI products make you guess. You click something… generate… experiment a little… and only then find out how many credits you just burned through.
I’ve run into this constantly myself with many products including Claude, Gemini, Lovable, Base44 and others.
I understand why it is done that way. It has to do with AI’s “context window” or the size of contextual information in the request. In other words, someone generating a 10,000 word article should get charged more credits than someone generating a 500 word article.
For us it is the web page size, number of changes, and difficulty of those changes.
And over the last few months, I started seeing similar feedback from users too:
“More credits to see.”
“Credit should be added.”
Just general frustration around not really knowing how far usage would go.
So we changed it.
Now inside PressMeGPT, you’ll see exactly how many credits an action uses before you run it.

Notice the labels that explain the credit usage for each action, the theme count dropdown (credit saver), and credit usage on the button.
No guessing. No surprises.
In fact, details on how credits are consumed are not only publicly available on our pricing page, they are sprinkled throughout the application on labels and buttons as you click.
We even added a credit saver feature to allow users to generate a single theme at a time instead of 3 to pick from.
Honestly, it sounds like a small thing, but we felt that credit transparency was important for the WordPress community.
You can actually plan around your usage instead of hoping you have enough credits left after experimenting.
As we keep expanding PressMeGPT from a single-page theme generator into a full AI WordPress website builder, predictability matters more and more.
Especially when you’re generating multiple pages, copying full websites, or trying to design a website on your mobile.
This was one of those updates that wasn’t flashy, but immediately made the platform feel better once it was live.
