On the heals of our “big update” last week (pardon our humor), we actually do have a big update this week. Now PressMeGPT.com has the ability to use any existing website as either design inspiration, or even create a fully functional copy of the site (with permission and disclaimers of course) – no matter where it is built.
This has been one consistent theme (pun intended) in our feedback from users and potential users:
- “Can I migrate a site from Wix?”
- “How do I convert a website I made on Google Gemini to WordPress?”
- “Where do I upload HTML to convert it to WordPress?”
- “Replit made a really cool site, how do I get it to be on WordPress so it is SEO friendly?”
You get the idea.
Now you can use PressMeGPT to convert a nice looking homepage built by any of the following tested solutions to a functional Classic WordPress theme or a Gutenberg WordPress theme.

There are obviously, some technical challenges and limitations to this but in our tests, it works pretty well!
Here is what PressMeGPT can migrate from HTML or any of the providers above:
- Homepage Look and Feel – When someone wants to migrate from one platform to another, they often want to just make sure they don’t lose the essence of their website. PressMeGPT does this well.
- Styles/Stylesheet – We migrate stylesheets to make sure pixels remain in their places.
- Animations / Transitions – We know people love their transitions and animations. Javascript is mostly migrated when moving from a different provider with PressMeGPT. We ran into an issue or two with third party libraries so there may be some limitations to this.
Here is what PressMeGPT does NOT do currently:
- Replicate menus – Menus in WordPress are controlled by internal builders like the Customizer or Full Site Editor. Moving these and having the be functional creates some technical challenges that we haven’t quite solved yet.
- Copy or download media – Due to copyrights, size restriction challenges when transferring files over the web, and just plain cleanliness in your AI generated theme, media (mainly videos and images) are not added to your WordPress theme download and should be transferred manually when replicating a site. Note: The copied site will still work and look good, its just that all media will be pointing to / hosted at the source site. You can easily download what you want from your old site, upload it to your WordPress site, and replace the URLs for each video or image. This keeps WordPress clean without bogging down with non-optimized files that were just dumped into your media folder.
- Copy or migrate sub-pages – PressMeGPT cannot not copy every page on an existing website at this time. It is really looking at the homepage design and shared elements like the header and footer.
